About Xining and Qinghai Province

Xining is in Qinghai Province, in the northern part of China, in between Tibet and Gansu. Qinghai's culture is strongly influenced by Tibet and is home to a variety of minority groups. We are hoping to be able to visit a Tibetan Buddhist monastery where they have elaborate sculptures made of yak butter. (I am sure this will inspire big sister in her playdough endeavours.)
