Orphanage visit

Here we are with the Xining director and a representative from Christian Action (the Anglican organization that partners with the orphanage). We were given a tour and met with Rachel YueYue's foster parents. It was obvious she was well loved and cared for. Xian and YueYue played with several of the ayis and the director while Grandma and I met the foster parents. (The director recommended that YueYue not see the foster parents as she had grieved so hard when she separated from them--Xining has the children stay at the orphanage for a few days before going to their new family). Today Xian showed me that her jacket pockets were full to the brim with candies that the staff had given her and YueYue. YueYue was happy to see some of her 'familiar people' and Xian really enjoyed her visit, too, though she was sure to check that we were not going to leave her baby sister there. She's still asking every day if we get to keep her, and loves being a big sister.
