So much for shoes....
It seems the two sisters both have the same penchant for utterly destroying their shoes. There are lovely shoes in China for kids, often made of soft colourful leather. Xian acquired an adorable pair of hot pink zip boots in Xining, made of very soft leather. Well, after about a week of wearing them, she's managed to tear up the sides and is dropping strips of pink leather where ever she goes. I doubt they'll make it back to Edmonton at this rate...
YueYue also has received a few pairs of new shoes. The first pair (also bought in Xining) had little flower decorations on the sides, which she managed to completely rip off by day two. I bought her a couple of pairs of nice leather ones yesterday and in one wearing she's also managed to rip off the leather bows on one set.
I think I'd better forget the nice Chinese shoes and get those two a couple of pair of Australian work boots or maybe we'll just stick to snowboots!

Linda -
Thanks for the updates - it is so much fun to follow along. I had to laugh when I read about her fine motor skills because Anderson's are off the chart. In fact she is ahead of our son who is 17 months older. It must be a Xining thing! :) She was also amazing at doing things by herself like putting on clothes, shoes, even socks. We couldn't believe everything she was able to do. Independent should have been her middle name. I hope the rest of the trip goes well. I know you are probably anxious by now to get back and start a routine. Keep us updated!!!

I, too, am enjoying your posts Linda. All things considered, it would appear the trip has been going well. How well I remember that last week, however. The itch for home certainly begins to intensify.
Blessings,
Debbie
