Back home...
Well, we made it through the 16 plus hours of travel with a toddler and a preschooler. Both kids did pretty well, all things considering and the big sprint we had do do to get through customs, immigration, and then barely make our connecting flight. Let's just say we are less than impressed with Air Canada's assistance in such matters. At our drop off in Beijing our driver couldn't find a red coat porter (the real ones who can take you fairly far, not the "pretend" ones) and we ended up having a police officer who had been doing traffic duty escort us and help us with our bags. His English was very good and having a policeman accompany us meant we went right to the front of the line. Once we arrived Rachel YueYue was great with the carseat and very curious to explore her new home. Also pleased with our gourmet dinner of alphaghetti. Conked out quickly with a full tummy and some exploration of our toys. Big sister is glad to be home, too, though had a bit harder time winding down. Given that they both had less than 7 hours total sleep for the day and completely upside down schedules. Will post more trip photos once we deal with jet lag and the mountain of laundry and suitcases to be emptied.

WELCOME HOME!
Wow Linda! How in the world you could even formulate a complete sentence after that long, gruelling flight, is nothing short of amazing.
I hope you all settle in nicely - that the transition isn't too difficult.
As you get time, let us know how things are going.
We are now 13 months and a bit post LID. Can you imagine? Sure hoping we'll be there by September, or I'll be doing this solo - AGAIN! Son Caleb won't be available come October, and hubby will have to stay home with the girls.
Anyway, I envy you - you've gone - you're home - it's done. Wonderful!
Blessings,
Debbie
